Review of Epidemik presents The Cambridge Rave Festival at The Junction, Cambridge.
The versitlity of Cambridge arts venue The Junction actually makes it suited to an old-skool rave up. The space available means that flexibility is allowed when it comes to decoration and logisitics and The Cambridge Rave Festival was no exception. Colourful strobe lighting gave the two rooms a joyous glow which infected us and the other party goers as soon as we got past the friendly (yes, really) bouncers. The actual music ensured that we remained in sensory heaven for the duration of the night.
We were promised that The Main Room would take us on a journey through the seven ages of rave and it certainly did, taking us on walk down memory lane which started at number 1988, A.K.A. the golden year of rave. However it was the star attraction, Baby D, who really got our nostalgic juices flowing. It was great to hear dance classics like 'Let Me Be Your Fantasy' again.
The other artists didn't disappoint either. Room 2 gave us a flavour of UK hardcore at its finest, with beats from the likes of Damage Inc and Big Ben driving the party on. With a great venue and great music, it was no surprise that everyone present was in a good mood, even the bouncers.
