Believe it or not, I stepped in a dip on a friends driveway (teach me to look where I'm going) ended up doing a none to elegant swan dive, landed full force on my outstretched left arm. Loads of crunching sounds (crunch, pause, crunch, pause - you get the idea) and owwww. I did stop to pick up my phone & car keys before going for help tho - can't repeat here exactly the words I used as I got up - I'd get kicked off the forum.

The tech term is;- (takes a deep breath and tries to remember how to spell it all) Capitulum (knocked the end off the bone to you and me) & comminuted fracture (broken into 3 or more sections) of the lateral distal humerus. It accounts for only 0.6% of arm injuries (see - been doing research on the old web)

Basically earned myself a 3 night stay in hosp (lovely place - yep I'm being sarcastic), should have been one night but it was worse than expected. Went from, "we'll pin it and everything will be okay" - to "we've put 3 screws in but don't expect it to get back to the way it was before." You know instead of a one hour op you're in for 3 hours.

Had physio and was greeted with "no one here has ever dealt with such a complicated fracture" - was instantly filled with confidence, not. :?:

As for making others happy, my philosophy is a smile costs nothing, neither does a kind word or manners (she says as she gives her son the finger for wanting to use the comp) hehe.

Green Day? Quite like them, have heard 3 or 4 of their tracks, will have to download (sorry) more and see if I like the rest. That's what I usually do. Can't afford to buy something you end up hating, I'll download 4 or 5 tracks then get the album if I like most of them. Only half cheating then.

Listening to blink 182 on Kerrang at the mo. :D :smt035 :smt035 :smt041

lol! I getcha, not pleasant words I'm sure
Well ow! I feel really sorry for ya! :( Ewww, though did ya have to be so graphic with the crunching sounds!? :pukeleft: lol (*that* is a disgusting smiley!)

You knocked the end of the bone off?! Bloody hell! You must've had a real nasty fall! Does that mean you have to have the end of your elbow removed then?

lol! I can't be deadly serious when you're being so darn witty! :P

Hehe, not to worry, your secret's safe with us  Well, if you're looking for songs to try I can highly recommend Minorty first, Basket Case is a good oldie from Green Day too. Wake Me Up When September Ends and the new single American Idiot are great newer examples too. Go forth and mosh!

Elbow - hope not, haven't ruled out another op if it still refuses to stay healed tho. Sorry about the crunching, couldn't resist. - hehe (evil laugh)

My word- are you all Green Day fans here? I cant say I am a fan, but I dont dislike them. I will take Jons advice for trying them out a bit more though..

Anyway - OOOOOUUUCH! That sounds really nasty. I am left handed - so I would be really stuffed if anything happened to it... I hope you get full use of it soon - it sounds like its been a real extended trial.

I hope you got those kids repaying the car ferrying in chores (washing up etc)! It would seem only fair.

I agree with the smile and manners philosophy. It was through such things that I met my wife (the story is in the hot tub somewhere).

I am listening to "Scratchy Noise" by the The Herbaliser at the mo.

listening to the deafening noise of my youngest being teased by the hubby at the mo. Give me slipknot any day (only joking).

I'll have to search for the herbaliser, haven't come across them before.

As for the arm, it's amazing exactly how much you can get done if you have to. I was going to say "get done one handed" but that sounded - umm - a bit - err - (gives up as is now laughing at her own thoughts too much - gotta get my mind out of the gutter)

Herbaliser? Never heard them to be honest, I'll give 'em a lookie though. Just don't forget to do the same with Green Day now

Ahhh, Basket Case! That be the song! :D

Oh it's ok Yvonne, you're not alone, most men's minds have been in the gutter since they were 14! Arf! Though I think even the sound of a spoon caught in a washing machines would be more harmonious than slipknot!

Let you into a secret. It's not just men's minds that are in the gutter from an early ages - women are just better at hiding it  how do you reckon we get to be so crafty at getting our own way!!!!

What you been upto tonite then?

Me? Fighting to get time on the comp so I could post more fanfic on the Busted site & come on here. Bl**dy pain having 3 others who want to use the net.

Amy's nose was well out of joint tonight, kicked her off msn and a busted slash fic site at 2am. It's the half term hols you see - half term means later nights (or earlier mornings should I say).

No school runs for the week :D

Spoke too soon - just been informed by number one son (yes he's still up - or should that be down) that he's going to see his mates & going to the pics. Nice of him to ask if the taxi driver is avail before organising!!

Amy also needs to go to N'hampton for school stuff and wants to visit an art gallery - groan. Oh well, sounds like I'll be driving more during the break than when they're at school. :(

lol Really? :o I suppose the flashing of legs should've given the manipulation away..but like so many men, I go willingly to my lazy death! :D Though actually I've seen women talking quite openly and loudly about each other's chests in pubs!

Yesterday...what did I do? Not a lot really! :) Texted a few people in me signing class to arrange going out tomorrow afternoon. Went to a mate's house too to try and fix his PC. Appears his fan has just stopped moving. My expertise is outside of the tower, so I'm not too sure why, but I do know a man that does! *dials his local PC store*

Did the traditional Saturday afternoon shopping trip to Stockport with me bro too. Took a game back, got home and tried it. Low and behold! The replacement doesn't work either! The future of my X Box is now in the balance :P

Watched United on telly this afternoon (tried not to cheer Arsenal too much :P :D). Having a long-overdue lazy night now. :D

Hehe, aye my mate Mike is always moaning at me about how often he has had to be a taxi since he passed his test 6 months ago. He's gotta do just that for me tomorrow night too! Taking me to a sign language class half term meet-up in a pub. :D
