Hi

Let me know what you think,. It's rather dark I wrote it after watching a really sad programme about child abuse and the after effects.

REGRETS
Happy childhood memories
Carefree, childhood days
Stolen, taken away from me
Lost to me in one day

My life since then has been on hold
I’ve lived it all, a lie
I look back now and am amazed
Amazed I’ve even tried

No tears to cry, can’t bring it back
The time they took from me
I grew up suddenly, over night
And lost the real me

My confidence can’t escape its jail
My spark forever? gone
My energy’s nonexistent
All taken by one wrong

I bluff my way through, day to day
Too scared to let them see
Afraid to open up in case they find
The sad and lonely, inner me

Who Am I? I ask my self
Each & Every day
Will I like me more than
The person I am today?

The person sitting here in the cold
Trying hard to accept their lot
Daughter, sister, wife & mother
I SHOULD BE HAPPY with what I’ve got

Trouble is, I see my kids all growing
Happy, confident & proud
Where was my time to be like that?
I want to scream the words out loud

My time to laugh, to run & play
To explore and time to grow
The things I knew at the age of 9
No 9 year old should know

That’s why I’m sitting here at 4am
Writing verse & drinking tea
I’m trying hard to find some one
To find the real me

WHOEVER SHE IS

Thanx for that. It actually took me about half an hour and then I just kept going back and changing the odd word here and there. It seems to be like that when the mood hits. Pity it doesn't hit a bit more often.

Seems almost ironic to be saying it about such a sad poem but wow! This is great! :)

You wrote all that in 30 minutes too?! Jeesh! :) You should enter it into a poetry compo!

Been there, done that. I am sick to death of formatting Bl**dy comps.
:smt019
The kids have all got one (got them towers for Xmas one year - bankrupt again) and Sam (16) is always messing his up. He even managed to delete the graphics card once - but swears blind he did nothing. Supermum (that's me by the way when he wants something) had to rummage through all the DIY comp manuals ands try to sort it - talk about the blind leading the blnd. Got it eventually but had to completely strip his system and reformat - he'd done some serious **** to it.

Ours is the only comp on the net at the mo - oh, & I have a laptop (that makes 5 comps altogther) - 3 yrs old but I use it for writing etc - better than sitting at the comp desk.

5 comps? Yer my kinda gal!

Our oldest one is going to the half sister and her lil' family when they come to visit next weekend (Uncle Jon plays co-babysitter for 24 hours to 2 kids, can't wait!). So that leaves us with 2 PC's and a laptop. THe laptop being my mum's and as such is strictly no games :D

I sort've have my own now (my bro's old one) but my bro's (which I'm on now) is a 2ghz monster, so I tend to rob his. :D

Whenever he's on it though I'm usually on the laptop. So anytime you see me around 9pm taking 6 hours to respond to a post, I'm on the laptop. :D

Sam wants the net in his room when we've finished converting the garage. Somehow I think my days of sorting out the comps have only just started!! :(

Hehe, kids these days should work it out for themselves! Admittedly I only know about PC's when the tower cover remains on, but still!

Ahh, doin' a lil' converting then? Just had an extension of the kitchen and a conservatory done. Should hopefully all be finally done by end of next week, by which time it'll be a staggering 13 week-long job :? Still, I get me own games room out of it
