Albums top 10
1 - Last Shadow Puppets - The Age Of The Understatement
A side project of Alex Turner from The Arctic Monkeys show this youngster is one of Britain’s most talented song writers at the moment. He can do no wrong.
2 – Kooks – Konk
Non-offensive indie here from the Brighton band who continue to do what they do best. An album of well crafted lazy anthems to get everyone singing along.
3 – Leona Lewis – Spirit
The winner of X-Factor 2006 finally came up with the goods after a year of keeping us waiting. Keeping it safe with ballads, Leona has elevated to super stardom.
4 – Duffy – Rockferry
The Welsh temptress releases her debut album to critical acclaim and who can argue with an album packed with delicate soulful tunes?
5 – Mariah Carey – E=MC2
In a seemingly odd tribute to science, Mariah returns to let us all know that she is firmly back on track after a few slight wobbles with her last albums.
6 – Scouting For Girls – Scouting For Girls
Fun music is severed up by a band who are not to everyone’s taste. Not for the hardcore music fan, but simply for someone who wants to have a good time.
7 – Whitesnake – Good To Be Bad
The old Gods of rock show that they still have plenty of songs to unleash to the public and show that the oldies can still rock out hard.
8 – Adele– 19
When she speaks, it may sound like nails scratching down a blackboard, but when she sings all that is gone and she belts out soulful tune after soulful tune.
9 – Nickelback – All The Right Reasons
Pop rock here from one of Canada’s most successful exports. Soft rock combined with raspy vocals oddly connect to make a well rounded listen.
10 – Amy Winehouse – Back To Black – The Deluxe Edition
Whilst she’s sadly more known for her drug taking, this record proves that she has an amazing voice that accompanies a unique blend of jazz and folk sounds
