Hi - I'm an IT professional from Virginia. I've been married for 28 years and we have 2 children. We live on top of one of the surrounding mtns just outside Roanoke (you can see this in the photo below).

Currently, I'm working on a major IT project using IBM mainframe technologies. I also have a lot of experience in Computer Security and will share regularly major breaking news if any bad attacks occur on the Internet.

Outside of work, I enjoy astronomy, digital photography, gardening, sports, hiking, and many activities.

I've met several friends from across the pond, as the Internet makes us all one great family. This is a neat forum to learn more about our mother country. :)

Hi Harry and welcome..

sure looks like a great place to live, good hiking country I'll bet

I read Jeff Shaara's Gods and Generals only this year which was brilliant and mostly set in Virginia. Somewhere I really want to visit someday and see the battle sites around Williamsburg, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville etc.

I'm also in IT but on unix boxes these days, tho did write a bit of PL/I once upon a time when I worked for IBM down in Portsmouth!!

Hope you enjoy it here
