I just heard No Doubt being played on the radio so I thought I would write a piece on them.
They formed in early 1987 as a ska band with influences such as Madness. The original lineup of No Doubt was initially John Spence, Gwen Stefani and her brother Eric. While playing the party-band circuit around Anaheim, the trio picked up bassist Tony Kanal.
In December 1987 John Spence commited suicide but No Doubt continued on with their music, Gwen became the main vocalist and the group added guitarist Tom Dumont and drummer Adrian Young.
In 1991 they were signed by Interscope Records unfortunately a year later genre of the band sank when the music scene was enveloped in Grunge and this led to Interscope not wanting to support them on tour or for any further recordings. So the band decided to record on their own during 1993-94 and they released The Beacon Street Collection. Eric Stafani left soon after its release.
In 1995 Interscope decided to support them in their recording again and Tragic Kingdom was released and by the end of the year the Album hit number 1 in the album charts almost a year after its release. This album the bands most successful song to date…Don’t Speak.
In spring 2000 they released their next album The Return of Saturn, which a few of the tracks were very popular. A year later, Stefani also hooked up with rap chanteuse, Eve for the single "Let Me Blow Your Mind" which went on to win a Grammy.
Since then they have had a number of successful albums including Rock Steady and their Greatest Hits and singles they are primarily a live band and over the past couple of years, the No Doubt machine has just got bigger and bigger and will continue to do so as they are an amazing band.

| were is the word yes!! but i tryed listening thier album like afew months back and i was like gosh this is pants! its prob cos ive turned to rock n roll now instead of s***e love songs! |

| Gwen Stefani is releasing a solo album called Love, Angel, Music, Baby and it is out on November 23. The first single to be released is What Are You Waiting For and it was officially released on October 4 so is available to buy in the shops now. :D |
