I know this is probably a long shot, but I'm worried and I know Debs has a son so maybe you can help if you've experienced this.
I'm babysitting my sister's kids at the mo and my youngest nephew has just had a night terror. It was like he couldn't see me or his youngest sister and climbed all over her face crying his eyes out. He was so strong that I had to shout my mum to come and help as I couldn't get him off her. It was scary as I was worried about him hurting either his sister, me or himself :(
Does anyone know how to stop night terrors? Apparently he gets them quite often :( |

| I am no expert but it could be worth you or your sister taking him to a GP. |

I would agree with Vic, Leanne..
Sean has never had night terrors like that...
I hope he is ok now ...
Our friend Leandra might know. |

Good morning everyone :)
Sorry about your experience when babysitting Leanne
Firstly, a visit to the GP is needed urgently. It would also be useful if parents can remember anything significant happening that scare the child or changes in the home environment that might set the parents worrying. Children are very perceptive and if told a situation is not important and to forget it they have a habit of supressing incidents and some may manifests itself in 'nightmares' - the mind have a way of alerting us that the situation needs to be sorted.

Thanks for the advice, will talk to my sister about it as it was awful to watch.
He had another about an hour after the first one - he just kept picking up random things in the room and trying to throw them.
I've done some searching on the net though and apparently there is no cure; you simply just have to leave the child and make sure there is no way they can harm themselves or others. You're not even supposed to restrain them as this can aggitate them even more. So I guess what I did was wrong, but I didn't want my neice getting hurt.
There must've been something in the air last night though, my little brother kept sleepwalking - it was kinda creepy lol! Wasn't a full moon last night by any chance? ;) |

| It was spooky and freaked me out at the time as it was around midnight and I was the only one still awake! My nephew was sleepwalking in the night aswell as having night terrors. Surely it's not just a coincidence that everyone in my house decided to do that last night? lol |

Leanne good that you did some research on what occured. Although some disciple believe there is no cure others do. Children go through phases so don't give up and please get your sister to seek advice from the Doctor, there might be a simple explanation. Re Full Moon I know one was due in September, not sure of the date and usually it affects certain people, me included but it passes pretty quickly
