WWE suspends top Wrestlers
There is news that WWE has suspended Some of it’s top Wrestlers, due to a raid on a Pharmacy in 2006.
Some of the previous customers of this pharmacy alleged to have received steroids from them include
boxer Evander Holyfield and baseball star Gary Matthews Jr.
There is a claim that a medical doctor from Arizona has prescribed
steroids and human growth hormone (HgH) for the following current WWE performers:
Edge, The Hurricane, Rey Mysterio and
Randy Orton, (who was alleged to have received six different types of steroidal substances).
Two of its recently deceased stars - Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero - also received steroids,
Benoit murdered his wife and son before killing himself in June 2007
and Guerrero died in a Minneapolis hotel in 2005 from heart disease.
Guerrero received the steroids testosterone and nandrolone, along with the estrogen-blocker anastozole,
a drug commonly taken by men on steroids to prevent developing breast tissue,
Nov. 2, 2005, just 11 days before he died of heart disease.
Benoit received steroids based on a Brandwein prescription, in February, 2006.
On August 13, 2007, former wrestler
Brian “Crush” Adams Was found by his wife unconscious in bed and not breathing.
When paramedics arrived they could not revive Adams.
He was pronounced dead of an undetermined cause.
He was discovered to have been given illegal steroids in December 2006.
Adams received nandrolone, testosterone and HGH.
In the wake of Eddie Guerrero's steroid-related death, the WWE instituted a "Talent Wellness Program" in February 2006.
The policy "prohibits the use of performance-enhancing drugs, as well as other prescription drugs which can be abused,
if taken for other than a legitimate medical purpose pursuant to a valid prescription from a licensed and treating physician.
For purposes of WWE's policy, prescriptions obtained over the Internet and/or from suppliers of prescription drugs from
the Internet are not considered to have been given for a legitimate medical purpose."
Under the Talent Wellness Program, an initial positive test triggers to a 30-day suspension and
a second positive leads to a 60-day suspension.
A third positive yields a termination.
There are rumours to who have been suspend, but WWE have not yet announced who they are.
