Yup, i'm back and i think i need a new pair of legs having walked so much, either that or i'm just incredibly unfit/weak as no one else seemed as tired as me (not even my little sister  )!
Anyway, i went down on the Thursday with my big bruv and ickle sis to get a decent tent spot and the first thing that struck me was how many drunk people there were on the first night and i mean :smt030 :smt078 !!! People were throwing up and staggering about and there was one guy just conked out, flat out on his back - the music doesn't even start till Friday, kids! I don't mean to sound like an old bore - i can rock like a mutha with the best of em (i even wore my socks in bed last night) but ther's crazy and then ther's stupid and these people make Jade Goody look like Stephen Hawking!
The second thing i noticed was the toilets; First night in and they're already the worst toilets in the world! I developed a tactic of staring up at the sky, holding my nose and thinking about pink and yellow penguins!
The funny thing about this years line up was the main acts wern't the best. Red Hot Chilli Peppers were a big dissapointment, even the hardcore fans thought so. They seemed to spend a lot of time "jamming" and making things up on the spot rather then playing songs and Anthony even forgot the words at one point. Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails were pretty good but again the crowd wern't exactly going mental. Arcade Fire may be the best band in the world right now and didn't dissapoint. Ash were great but they always were a good live act and i even got to meet them. Band of the festival were a band called The Subways. Never heared of them? You will do. Mixing the kind of loud yet catchy pop punk that Nivana or The Who would be proud of with a relentlessly energetic and passionate stage performance they put the better known acts to shame and the crowd went wild like i've havn't seen for ages!
So all in all it was a great time with great music. I even had time to see Ed Byrne in the comedy tent and go on the scariest fairground ride i've ever been on (my knuckles are still white from holding on). Think i'll be back in a B&B next time though. I don't care if everyone calls me a p*ssy - i like being clean and i like good nights sleep and i dont like spiders, the cold, mud and being surrounded by tossers. |

The Subways.. I've heard of them but can't remember any of their songs!
I was disappointed to see Panic! At the Disco got bottled again (and alot worse than last year) and yet again another member of their band got hit in the head. I wish idiots would stop throwing bottles at bands they don't like. I mean fair enough if you don't like them, go somewhere else while they're on; DON'T ruin it for everyone else! ...Ok rant over!
I heard Chilli's were rubbish by quite a few people, so didn't bother checking them out on BBC3 - didn't wanna waste my time!
Ash and Razorlight were pretty good! Didn't get to see much else as I had the remote snatched off me though!
Just wanna add, if you missed it, they're all on the BBC website - click here! |

| I just don't get the thing about throwing bottles. If they did that anywhere else apart from a festival they'd get arrested. It's pure thuggery and it's cowardly too. Rock fans can be the biggest jerks in the world sometimes. |

I didnt watch it this year ..
I am more into R "N" B stuff..
it is bad when people have to ruin it for other people who are there to enjoy it. |

| I agree. Can you imagine if they did that at a football match? They'd have police all over them in seconds! I don't see why it has to be so different at festivals. |
