I remember watching this film on channel four about 4 years ago and I thought it was a fantastic deeply moving film, I then showed to it all my friends and they fell in love with the movie the same way I did!
I cant describe how moving and beautiful this move really is to you, but I highly recommend you see it!
The film stars 3 of my sexiest men in my life , Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Ewan McGregor and Brian Molko ( Brian’s not in it much though)
The film is about Glam rock in the 70's and a bisexual pop Icon Brain Slade (also know as Maxwell Demon) and Curt Wilde (reminds me of Kurt Cobain a bit) and together they take the music world into a massive frenzy!
The story is about how Brain Slade decided to fake his own death on stage, but the stunt backfires and he was never seen again!
Until a news reporter has a task of trying to locate Brain Slade and his whereabouts on the day! So he finds out more about Brian by going to see Brian’s old manager and ex wife.
The people he meets are bringing back memories of his life and his days when He was a massive Brian Slade fan.
Oh its all to good to explain, but the soundtrack to this film is truly amazing as well with songs from Placebo, Ewan McGregor, Jonathan Rhys
Meyers and T-rex.
Velvet Goldmine takes you on a journey into Rock'n'Roll excess! Back to the stardust 70s, back to the days where music was a prostitute and should be tarted up!!
