I watched this film on Channel 4 last night after not watching it for about a year or so and I forgot what an amazing film it really is!
Gladiator was the winner of 5 Oscars including Best Picture Gladiator is an astonishingly epic spectacle with a genre of grand action-drama. The action is amazingly brilliant; you get everything from gruesome killings to leaping tigers in some visual effects that look truly real, you won't even notice they are computer-generated. I certianly didnt!
The drama is the heart of the movie however, the back-story is the story of a man, his love for his family, his strong abilities and his will to escape. This man is played to absolute perfection by Russell Crowe in one of his most gritty roles to date only maybe being topped by his role in Master and Commander. There is also a fantastic supporting cast - Oliver Reed, Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Neilsen and Amistad's Djimon Hounsou - all who give life to interesting roles.
This really is a film of our time, and you must have been hiding under a rock for the last 4 years to not have seen it. |

sadly oliver reed died during the making of the film but this film is so amazing with the graphics and the actors making it such a decent film!
This has to be Russell crowes best films and well the only film were hes good looking in it!!
Another tear jerker this film is and i give it thumbs up! |
