When football season ends, the transfer market picks up. Already there are lotsa rumours and movement...
Bayern Munich finally made a public announcement about the sale of Owen Hargreaves to Man Utd. Sir Alex has been chasing the midfielder for a while and finally Hargreaves will grace the sacred grounds of Old Trafford.
Man Utd are also chasing Brazilian sharp-shooter Alfonso Alves.
Man Utd are splashing out £12million for Ajax's Huntelaar.
Birmingham wants Arsenal's Johan Djourou.
West Ham is on a spring-cleaning mission as Curbishley plans to axe 12 players.
Sunderland's Roy Keane has his eyes on Bolton's Jussi Jaaskelainen.
Micah Richards is being hunted by Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd.
John Terry dismissed reports that he was handing in a transfer request.
Arsenal fans ponder the future of Fredrik Ljungberg and Thierry Henry, but there has not been conclusive news on the two stars.
Also, ESPN Soccernet named their Team of the Season.
Manager - Steve Coppell
Fitting, seeing that Coppell has led the Royals to immense success in their first season in the top flight.
Defenders - Michael Essien, Daniel Agger, Ricardo Carvalho and Patrice Evra.
Essien has been Chelsea's lifeline when the backline was lacking, but he really is a better midfielder than he is a defender. Evra has been plagued by persistent injuries, but yea, he's a pretty decent defender and very useful to have overlapping on the flank. Daniel Agger? I don't know. I would have readily named Carragher. Just because the young man scored some pretty goals doesn't mean he deserved a spot here I think. While he is eager and industrious, I think inexperience still reeks from the youngster. He has promise, but is far from being a complete article. Carvalho has been great for Chelsea this season, especially when Terry was sorely missed.
Midfielders - Paul Scholes, Cristiano Ronaldo, Matthew Taylor and Steven Gerrard.
Firstly, I know Cesc Fabregas hasn't exactly scored the goals he should have, but it is ludicrous that he isn't named in this line-up. Scholes and Ronny have been amazing (in fact, so has Giggs) and are deserving recognitions. Matthew Taylor has been exceptional for Portsmouth, but I feel he shouldn't be named above a player who has the second highest number of assist in the league - Cesc is just behind Ronaldo in this statistic. Gerrard has always been an influential figure for Liverpool, no two ways about that. But I think there were other more outstanding midfielders this season...
Forwards - Didier Drogba and Dimitar Berbatov
Drogba is the top goalscorer of the season, so no surprises here. Berbatov is not my favourite player at all, but he has been fantastic for Spurs. He would not have been my choice though.
Goalkeeper - Ben Foster
Okay, the lad is brilliant and has lots of promise, but keeper of the season? Not my pick.
Who would you name in your Team of the Season?
