Alan ball the youngest of the England 1966 world cup squad has died at the age of 61.
Alan started his football career training with Bolton wanderers,
but they decided he was too small to have a professional career.
he went to Blackpool making his league debut at Anfield Liverpool.
After his performance at the 1966 world cup, he was signed by Everton.
He moved to Arsenal at the age of 26, In total he made 217 appearances
for the Gunners, scoring 52 goals.
In December 1976 he was sold toSouthampton for a fee of £60,000.
Alan was also a coach / manager with Portsmouth, Colchester, Stoke City,
Exeter City, Southampton, Manchester City then Back to Portsmouth.
Alan Ball died on April 24, 2007 of a heart attack, while tackling a bonfire at his home. He was 61.
