Seeing as though Keane’s album Hopes and Fears was the latest album I have bought, I thought it ideal that this would be the subject of my first review.

After hearing theses guys numerous times on the radio, I visited Amazon and purchased a copy for myself, I was a bit wary due to the amount of times I have heard one song from an album and went out and bought it and was disappointed with the rest of the tracks and annoyed I had forked out my hard earned cash!

But thankfully I was not disappointed this time, the first time I listened to the album was on my push bike cycling to my parents house, it is a very good and catchy album and before I knew it I was singing my heart out peddling away!

Tom Chaplin's voice is absolutely amazing, unfortunatley I have not had the opportunity to see them live as of yet, but I will be as soon as I get the chance as I have heard but rave reviews about their live performaces.

Ok so possibly my favourite track on the album though is 'Can't Stop Now', a glittering pop song with heartfelt lyrics that tell of yet another failing relationship "I'm lonely and I’m too tired to talk...." and "Come back home, I’ve got troubles of my own". I am sure that most people that listen to can relate to it in some way.

Although on a few occasions Keane don't completely hit the mark, on tracks like 'Sunshine' and 'On A Day Like Today', despite the tracks lacking direction they still manage to sound melodic and pleasant.

All in all this album is a pretty and meticulously-crafted collection of songs, and in my opinion Hopes and Fears is a remarkable and surprisingly mature debut album from a young band with a bright future and I would recommend you pop to HMV or visit Amazon and purchase a copy for yourself. It is also available from www.ukevents.net
