Hey everyone , sorry havn't contruted much yet, have have PC probs, had to switch from Windows to Linux, but a friend who is a computer scientist (no less) no common IT bod(only joshing) fixed it for me, now am firing on both systems.
Also I have just about recovered from my Canadian experience,
I have just returned from Quebec Canada, I visited a friend, I have been talking to on the Internet via webcam & mike for 18+months, I promised her we would meet, unfortunately she has terminal cancer, had her stomach removed 4 years ago,the visit was traumatic, because she is more unwell than I thought & that she wanted people to know,we spent almost 2 days in hospitals.
The flat she lives in is small, more or less a bed-sit I managed to find a motel,5 mins away by car,she does not have the strength or willpower to keep it clean or tidy, the local welfare don't seem to worry, she has neighbours, who try to help,
I am keeping in touch with her & her daughter who lives in Phoenix Arizona, between us we hope to get her help eventualy through the local welfare.
It confirms what I think about how some people live & that apathy is the way of life if you have no money, nobody cares.
She has 6 grownup children who live within 100kl, they pop in occasionally, bur are to busy with their own lives to do much, I left feeling sad & helpless, I have tried to speak to her, but she has not replied to my messages.her daughter who lives in Arizona, keeps in touch with her & myself .we are trying to get in touch with the local authority to get her some help, lets hope it will work.

It does not seem possible that 3 years ago today I was actually in Sydney, where does time go?
I am managing to keep out of hospitals, except for my weekly visit to podiatrist. touch wood, the foot is almost healed,
it will be 1 year in 8 days from when it all began
Summer is just round the corner, hopefully I will be able to play bowls this year.

I hope you are well & that life is treating you kindly, as I have discovered, there are many that aren't.

Regards Brian :pottytrain4:

Welcome back Brian and I am sorry your visit wasn't what you expected but it give you to opportunity to and I know you have and will continue to help a dear friend.

There's many of us about, but enough to make a difference. Please keep well and bowling should be fantastic for you this year.

I have not contribute much myself due to necessary distractions but I will remedy as soon as humanly possible - Keep smiling :D
