Scooch
Scooch are a group of 2 girls and 2 boys.
Natalie Powers, Caroline Barnes, David Ducasse and Russ Spencer.
Scooch formed in1999 after attending auditions for an "all-singing,
all-dancing pop group" in front of the noted songwriters and producers
Mike Stock and Matt Aitken and future manager, Steve Crosby.
Scooch won a contest on BBC One's Saturday morning show
Live & Kicking in 1999.
Their debut single "When My Baby" charted within the Top 40.
Their second single More Than I Needed To Know".
It entered the UK Singles Chart at number 5,
In September 2000, EMI-Parlophone terminated their contract,
and the group decided to spilt for personal reason.
Four years later in January 2004 the group decided to reform to
perform at G-A-Y's Gone But Not Forgotten night
Scooch appeared on Making Your Mind Up to perform their song
Flying the Flag (For You). For the eurovision concents and won.
There was a bit of a mix up to who won the contest as
Terry wogan announced the runners up Cyndi to be the winnner,
Fearne Cotton revealed the winner to be Scooch.
The song is very cheesey,
but then all songs from the eurovion song contests are..
Very catchy though.
I wonder if it’s a winning song for the UK.

Well yet again we're gonna look like idiots at Eurovision!
The runner up was actually quite good; her voice was amazing and we'd get far with her in my opinion. The only downside to her was that she wasn't British! |
