Crouch is too tall for nightclub
TOWERING Peter Crouch is having to side-step girlfriend Abbey Clancy’s favourite nightspot — because the ceiling has been lowered.
The 6ft 7in Liverpool striker cannot squeeze into the basement bar now it is just 6ft 4in high.
He would have to tilt his head awkwardly, as our mock-up shows — or, er, crouch.
Private members’ bar Mosquito decided on the change during a refurbishment to make the atmosphere more intimate.
It is a popular hang-out for celebs including TV’s Hollyoaks cast, while Liverpool FC hosted private parties there before signing Crouch, 25.
The England ace was seen with 20-year-old model Abbey in the city on Saturday night, heading to the nearby Newz bar with its lofty ceilings.
A source said: “It’s embarrassing for Peter because he wouldn’t be able to stand up, let alone hit the floor to perform his ‘RoboCrouch’ goal-celebration moves.
“I guess Liverpool will have their Christmas party somewhere else.
“It’s not his first problem with his height. He was living in a hotel for a while but had to go across the road for his breakfast because his knees wouldn’t fit under the breakfast table.
“He took it with good humour. I suppose it’s something he has had to get used to.”
Crouch dumped Abbey after pictures surfaced during the World Cup of her appearing to take cocaine. But they have rekindled their romance.
