lol You chava Amy! :D
I liked the Spice Girls but never bought their albums. Looking back now that's probably a good thing.
I was born in '83 but the 80's weren't that great to me. There was a music revolution but a rather poor one. 90% of 80's songs were camp nonsence it seemed. :D |

Take That were the ultimate boy band though and I'm a bloke! :) |

I was born in the late 70s, and although there was great TV in the 80's - they were quite boring otherwise, the ninetees get my vote. These last few years have been a bit rough so far - but we'll see- we are only halfway into the new decade....
Plus I was a teen in the ninetees - which always works for really appretiating a decade.
Things always look better looking backwards.
I can quite safely say I liked neither Take That nor East 17. I didnt like NKOB either. Just not my thing at all.... In the Eighties and Early ninetees I was listening to Metallica and GNR - I dont listen to them either now... |

I was a rocker/metaller when I was younger.. Hehe.. I had a black leather jacket, crazy hair and never listened to pop. When you are a rocker there is a certain principle that anything played on TOTP must be bad - however GNR and Bon Jovi had been played. I even had a couple of patches of bands like Pantera on the Jacket.
Although I grew out of that - I am still a bit of a music snob - I probably always will be. The only "boy bands" I ever liked were the Beatles and The Monkeys. I am not keen on most pop or R &B. I do like Electronic, Classical, Downtempo, Darkside, Techno, Dance, Jazz, Acid Jazz and Trip-Hop styles though.
I will say in their defence that East 17 had more character than many other of those kind of bands. |
