I was watching BB last night and it made me think of this topic.
I am so scared of clowns its untrue, I almost cried when i saw vic all dressed up, i couldnt even look at the screen. I even ran from Ronald McDonald once, he frightened the hell out of me.
I wondered what phobias others may have?

I am terrified of wasps. Even if I see one a fair distance away, I panic and become breathless. If I am in a room and hear a "buzz" I know from the sound alone if it is a fly or a dreaded wasp.
I have been known to be walking along the street, see a wasp nearby me and I swipe hysterically at it wirh my bag, run like mad leaving my bag behind me on the ground. Then I have to go back for it all teh while looking all around in case another wasp is "comming to get me". As this behaviour looked quite strange, I now wear repellant all through the "danger" part of the year.
NOt fond of spiders either but only the large ones. |

This probably sounds really silly, but i'm scared of birds! I have no idea what made me scared of them, I just can't have them flying anywhere near me.
I even go so far as to cross the street if there's a pigeon walking around on the pavement on my side just in case it decides to fly off in front of me - makes walking through Belfast city centre interesting cos they're everywhere!! |

Doesn't sound silli to me Debbie. Our Phobias are real to US and from someone who has one herself, I understand.
I know what you mean about the "rats on wings" around Belfast....they are everywhere! They land on our kitchen windowsill at work all the time as well. |

Aww thanks... nice to know someone doesn't think i'm strange for that one!
My friends all find it very funny - one of them even got a butterfly thing, that has an elastic band in it so that you can wind it up and then it flies off when you let go of it, and put it inside my birthday card. Scared the life out of me when I opened my card and this thing flew out at me!! |

i so forgot i was petrified of dentists till i got tooth ache yesterday and had to make an appointment today.
i picked up the phone and my heart started pounding so hard i thought it was gonna bang out of my chest! i was sweating and shaking too! and that was just making the call!!!!!
i warned them that i will probably cry when i get there. i'm such a wuss! i've only ever had 1 filling before and it has to be pretty bad if i visit the dentist.
anyone else love dentists as much as i do?

Absolutely petrified of the Dentist Shelly :pale:
I had bad toothache a few moths ago , took painkillers, no use, used that oil of cloves, temporary relief. I still would not give in and I lay in bed that night with my hand in a fist and my check pressed really hard against the knuckles of my fist all night. My hand and my cheek were numbed. Of course I ended up having to go to teh dentist or be in agony for another day. I have since found a new Dentist that I "like" and I will go....eventually when I HAVE to.
This is me by the way....CraftiEst....thought I was logged in....duh. This old age thing is causing me problems :? |

| Hmmmm I am with u on the dentist phobia. I am a lot better now becos I have a thingie in my wrist that sedates me. You really just dont give a damn what they are doing. I had extensive treatment a while ago and I was in the chair frr an hour. Felt like I was only there for a few minutes. :D |
