Byker Grove is to be axed after 17 years.
The show that launched Ant and Dec (aka PJ and Duncan), Donna Air and Jill Halfpenny will end after the next series.
Apparently, BBC bosses want to concentrate on shows for primary school children.
Byker Grove tackled serious issues including drug addiction, child abuse, teenage pregnancy and abortion.
In 1995 it became the first children's drama to tackle the subject of homosexuality.
It sparked all sorts of nostalgic memories when the news broke at the Mail online. It is indeed, the end of an era.
