Hi Janice,

Promoting a site is abit like promoting most things really.

The easiest and cheapest way is really word of mouth but that can take a lot of time. (Unless you have a really big gob !!)

The most expensive but fastest way is via the television. There are a million and one ways in between.

These includes posting your web site address on posters, cards, your car etc.

You could leave your web site address on your ansaphone message, on t shirts and clothing. You could organise a promotional event, hold an exhibition, set up a competition, arrange a publicity stunt.

On the web you could join a web ring, or start up an affiliate program. Try as many things as you can, see which works best for you and then keep on doing it.

It rarely happens over night though...so keep at it.

I hope this helps.

We have some members from a wide variety of backgrounds, maybe they would like to add their voice.

Janice,

Registering your site on web directories such as www.dmoz.org will help too.

I hope this helps.

Hi Janice,

I am not sure if this is legit so you would really need to take legal advice, but you could write your web site address on dollar bills or visit an internet cafe and book mark your web site on their machines.

Sometimes the best things in life are free.

Disclaimer: Take the above advice at your own risk. If you are under 18, definitely don't do it.

Hello Janice.............

All the previous advice has been gr8.

My website took off after about 6 months so there was a bit of a wait but it did eventu~elly get off the ground.

If u use Ares or some other similar P2P sharing programme you could advertise yourself on their as well.

I advertise on Ares and promote my business in the comments section of the music description that peeps download off me.

It has worked wonders............... lol

Bfn and good luck Elly xx
