Ugo growing frustrated
By Graeme Bailey - Created on 17 Dec 2005
Ugo Ehiogu admits he is becoming frustrated at Middlesbrough.
The former England defender has struggled with injuries and form, which has seen Chris Riggott preferred in recent weeks.
"I want to play as many games as possible and, when I'm not doing that, I'm simply not happy.
"Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the sort of games that I'm wanting at the moment.
"When they come along, it seems to be one here and one there. I have to do as well as I can in those circumstances."
Ehiogu, 33, will get his chance to re-stake his claim this weekend against Tottenham Hotspur, as Riggott is suspended.
"I'll get another chance this weekend with Chris being suspended, but games seem to be at something of a premium for me at the moment," he said.
"As much as it's frustrating, I have to concentrate on playing well whenever an opportunity comes along. I'm an experienced player, but that doesn't make something like this any easier to bear.
"Whatever age you are, you want to be playing. It's probably a little bit easier to handle when you're younger.
"All I can do is play well in the team and see what happens for the next game. There's not a lot else I can do really." |
