Christmas cheer for Big Sam

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce was understandably delighted with his side following their 4-0 win at Everton.
The Trotters battled for their 1-0 lead at half time, which came from Kevin Davies - but a great second half performance saw three goals come in just five minutes as Stelios Giannakopoulos - twice - and Gary Speed scored.
"It has made our Christmas," beamed Allardyce.
"It is a big result after Wednesday (Uefa Cup game) and coming away from home, to win 4-0 is a major feat.
"To punish the opposition to the ultimate, you could say it flatters us and I would probably agree - but the bottom line is the quality of finishing in the second half was the best we have had this year.
"A lot of the time we look at the lack of quality on finishing but on this it was absolutely superb.
"We were under a lot of pressure, but saying that they had no clear cut chances.
"For me this is a sign of an ever-growing Premiership side, who is getting used to what it takes to win a game and getting used to changing to what it takes to win and today they have done that with tremendous style and tremendous professionalism under difficult circumstances." |
