O'Leary: We were outplayed
By Simon Fudge - Created on 17 Dec 2005
Aston Villa manager David O'Leary says his side were 'outplayed and outclassed' in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Manchester United.
The Villans looked second best for the majority of the lunchtime contest, as United got goals from Ruud van Nistelrooy and Wayne Rooney to see off their Midlands hosts.
The former Leeds United boss admitted Villa deserved nothing from their clash with The Red Devils.
"I thought we were outplayed and outclassed by a team that is flying," O'Leary told PremPlus.
"We needed a little break when (Milan) Baros hits the bar. At 2-1, you never know.
"You feel frustrated and hopeless because you're outplayed and outclassed, so no excuses."
Despite Villa only being five points clear of the bottom three, the Irishman claimed he will not be adding new faces in next month's transfer window.
"We've got to go on generally with what we've got," O'Leary admitted. |
