A member of rap act So Solid Crew has been jailed for life murdering a love rival in a revenge attack.
Carl Morgan, 24, was sentenced at the Old Bailey and was told he must spend a minimum of 30 years behind bars.
He was found guilty of gunning down Colin Scarlett outside his home in south London on November 6 last year after an argument between Morgan and Elisha McFarlane, the mother of his child.
The court heard the shooting resulted from a trivial domestic love feud that spiralled within hours into an armed confrontation over perceived "disrespect".
Ms McFarlane had called Mr Scarlett for back-up claiming the So Solid Crew member had assaulted her so he turned up with his brother and a friend and began fighting in the street.
Prosecutor Richard Horwell told the court: "There is no doubt that Carl Morgan was the loser.
"To have lost the fight to Colin Scarlett was an act of humiliation."
The court heard that Morgan later confronted Mr Scarlett and shot him three times.
The Common Serjeant of London, Judge Brian Barker, told Morgan: "Gun use is the scourge of our streets and causes misery and distress.
"The message must be all one way - that it will not be tolerated." Jurors earlier failed to reach a verdict on So Solid Crew leader Megaman - who appeared in court under his real name Dwayne Vincent.
Vincent will be tried again on March 20 next year |
