Thanks Phoenix, really cool links and the link vic gave is also important.
I use a nifty little thing called Bigfix. It scans your pc and notifies you of any critical updates and lots of other usefull tips

another handy thing if you are struggling with spyware is hijack this although I would not reccomend you remove ANYTHING unless you know exactly what you are doing. Best to make a copy of the log and ask someone who is a boffin to help you out.

One thing to bear in mind though is that a few of the *free* downloads are limited in what they do. ie .... they will tell you what you have on the PC, but it wont remove them unless you buy the full version, so be sure to read all the terms and conditions properly. |
