Plymouth Argyle boss Tony Pulis insists the club have not acted improperly in their inquiries for Port Vale pair Sam Collins and Billy Paynter.
Vale are currently putting together a complaint to the Football Association concerning what they feel are illegal approaches by agents towards Collins and Paynter.
The Valiants have also received what they describe as "derisory" bids from Argyle for the pair, but manager Martin Foyle knows that any increased offers could see one or both players end up at Home Park.
And Pulis told the Plymouth Evening Herald: "I have spoken to Foyley and told him about my interest in them. He told me they would be available at the right price.
"It's now down to the two chairmen to find out what that price is, and if they want to sell. But, as I have said before, I have made a lot of inquiries about players at other clubs."
Collins and Paynter initially refused to play in Vale's 1-0 home defeat by Bradford on Saturday as they were under the impression they were on the verge of being sold, but after further talks with the club they were included in the starting line-up. |
