Sheffield United's new-look attack seized their opportunity to impress in a 4-0 win against Millwall and maintain the Blades' advantage at the top of the Championship.

Neil Warnock paired Vincent Pericard and Danny Webber in attack - resting Neil Shipperley and Steve Kabba - and the duo responded with first-half goals at the New Den against Colin Lee's strugglers.

Webber struck in the 33rd minute with an unstoppable drive from 25 yards after spinning on the edge of the area. Pericard doubled the lead three minutes later by heading in at the far post from a corner.

Alan Quinn came on a substitute in the second half and found the top corner before Webber wrapped up the 4-0 victory.

Luton enhanced their promotion credentials by giving Norwich a masterclass in finishing at Kenilworth Road.

The Canaries enjoyed plenty of possession but were stung by the clinical Hatters, starting with Warren Feeney's opener after 16 minutes from Steve Howard's cross.

Carlos Edwards doubled the lead after his cross was spilled in by England goalkeeper Robert Green, while Peter Holmes was afforded too much space to make it 3-0.

Howard scored with a header at the far post four minutes before the break, before Dean Ashton and Ryan Jarvis pulled goals back in the second half to make it 4-2.

Calum Davenport was dismissed for two bookings.

Chris Brown scored the opener for the Tigers, bundling the ball home after Leon Cort hit the bar. Glen Little levelled with a header with 16 minutes remaining.

The impressive form of Leeds striker Rob Hulse continued during the 2-1 win against Southampton at Elland Road.

Hulse scored the opener with a tremendous header after 11 minutes from a Gary Kelly free-kick, with Robbie Blake finding the top corner to double the advantage.

Theo Walcott pulled one back after 25 minutes and then had chances to level - but it remained 2-1 to the hosts.

Cardiff threw away the lead twice on their way to a 2-2 win against Preston at Ninian Park.

Joe Ledley finished after Jason Koumas had hit the woodwork with a direct free-kick after 31 minutes.

The visitors levelled after 62 minutes when Tyrone Mears finished from close range, but Koumas restored the lead with 10 minutes left. Chris Sedgwick levelled again in the dying moments.

Ipswich's promotion challenge was dented after a 2-2 draw against Coventry at Portman Road.
