Mick Foley wrestles with his reputation
Mick Foley is not only a three-time WWE Champion, he’s also a seven-time author.
Mick Foley’s latest book, Scooter, has been receiving critical acclaim. But even though Scooter has been a success, according to a recent ABCNews.com article, Foley is still oftentimes remembered more for his antics inside the ring than outside.
Foley told the Web site that it’s rare that he’s known as being a best-selling author rather than a wrestling Superstar. But Foley thinks its rarity will dissipate by continuing to write successful pieces of literature.
Foley’s foray into the world of literature began in 1999 when he completed his first autobiography called Have a Nice Day!: A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks. Since then, Foley has gone on to write a second autobiography, three children’s books and two other novels.
Despite a successful career as an author, though, Foley told ABCNews.com that he still has some trouble putting his thoughts down on paper.
“Everytime I sit down, it's a struggle to come up with the first words or just to convince myself that I'm still capable of writing. Every previous book seems like a fluke, Foley said. “And then when I begin writing, everything seems natural.
But does all that success mean that Foley is done competing in the ring? Foley appeared on WWE Homecoming last Monday night for an edition of Piper’s Pit. Piper asked when Mick would be coming back to the squared circle. Foley replied by saying that he’d need a really good reason to do so, and then mere moments later he was laid out by Randy Orton with an RKO. Is this the reason Foley needs to come back? Only time will tell. |
