I dont know where to post this peice of crap lol, so i hope here is fine :)
Fightstar have been out and about since 2003, having their first gig in December that year, during that time Charlie Simpson had been scrapping the charts with James Bourne and Matt Jay Willis otherwise known as Busted. Since then Charlie signed a record deal with a Major rock label in Island Records. In November 2004 rumours we’re going round that Charlie wasn’t happy in Busted and he wanted to leave, sadly on 14th January Busted split, and prepared to top the charts with Fightstar.
The lyrics in Fightstar’s debut single Palahniuk’s Laughter are those of busted material, but not cheesy like a few of their songs, [Lyric – ‘Stop putting me down cause I wont ever understand.’], but the sound is totally different, it’s a lot rockier and Charlie’s Voice fits that louder and rockier sound. All in all the presence of Charlie Busted is in the lyrics, but its Charlie Fightstar in the Vocals and Guitar.
Their Latest single ‘The Grand Unification’ has just been released on the music channels and the video is not much different to any other one that they have done, except they are not drenched wet and it is quite a dark and mysterious video.
Busted are still alive in these lyrics as they are in every fightstar song I have heard,
[Lyric – ‘If you wake up on your own something happens please come home.’]
I still cant get over the fact that Fightstar are so different to every other rock band around at the minute, short but powerful solo’s, Charlie’s loud screams, Busteds lyrics. Fightstar have never had a proper chance with the music industry, angry fans accuse them of the busted brake up, rock musicians and fans wont give them a chance because of the “pop connection� even though good and true words have been put in for them.
Most of their songs are relatively the same type of stuff with the exceptions of say, mono and carry her.
Fightstar have had a tough time in the music industry, but they know how to play their instruments and sing rock style, their new single ‘The grand Unification’ is released soon, I don’t know the exact date. But it sounds like its going to be huge. |
