| Im a huge Ghost in the shell fan, but i've heard theres a new Ghost in the shell 2: Innocence anime film either about to be released or is already out.. has anybody actually seen it and if you have is it as good as the first ghost in the shell movie? |

Ghost in the shell is an anime set in future japan, In a world caught up in the grip of information overload, where artificial intelligence is more than the real thing and cyborg cops spend their lives surfing on an electronic sea of living data. The shell is pretty much the cyborg bodies these cops live in and the ghost is the subconcious back from when they where human.
We have the main character whose name is Kunasagi, who is an elite officer in Shell Squad, the Section 9 security force: a cybernetic agent so heavily modified that little more than her ghost remains. Along with fellow cyborg Bateau and the mostly human Togusa, Kusanagi is set on the trail of a computer-criminal known as the Puppet Master, a datathief skilled enough to hack into the very minds of his victims. His human marionettes live out existences that are nothing more than computer-generated fantasy, unwittingly committing their master's crimes while the Ghost-hacker hides in the darkness
The importance of Kusanagi is that she digs deeper into the walls of secrecy surrounding the case of the puppet master and it appears that the Puppet Master has a special interest in her alone. And when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shadowy Section 6, enter the scene, webbing her in a tangle of plot and counter plot, Kusanagi realizes that the true identity of her invisible assailant lies at the centre of a vast and lethal political conspiracy.......
That's what the first ghost in the shell is about... later on after the film they released a series of 8 dvds called Stand alone complex. which is supposedly after the second film.. which is released soon on cinema.. and that doesn't really have much to do with the films at all from what i gather.. but it's the same plot if you will..it's still a cybernetic futeristic japan just other different things happening.
I've not seen innocence yet.. however i'll take a wild guess and say that it follows up from the first film!
AND the good news is that it's a trilogy, so after ghost in the shell 2 :innocence there should be a third film :D :D :D |

| I tried to watch ghost in the shell 2 without seeing the first movie and I got bored with it. I almost fell asleep even. I thought it would be good because of the animation etc but I hated it. |
