Steven Richards has been called a lot of things. Paranoid, off-kilter, ill-adjusted, unstable, unpredictable and simply put: out of his mind. All are very accurate descriptions of this eccentric Superstar who has an accomplished background in hardcore wrestling; hence his Hardcore Championship reigns reaching the staggering count of 21.
But don’t try to understand Richards’ state of mind as it is nearly impossible. From his days attempting to censor other Superstars as a member of the Right to Censor to his involvement with the bizarre Blue World Order (bWo) – a popular faction famous for a series of parodies dating back to Richards’ days in ECW, Richards bucks the system with his unusual approach and alliances making him a volatile and untrusting competitor.
There’s no denying Richards’ methods are quite unorthodox, including dressing in drag and attacking WWE Superstars in a fit of revenge but who can argue with his results? Perhaps it’s this unpredictable nature which has enabled Steven Richards to not only survive but succeed thus far on both RAW and now Smackdown |
