It would have been easy for Orlando Jordan to just give up on his dreams and give into the hardships that have marked portions of his life.

But that's just not Jordan's style.

As a child, Jordan was falsely diagnosed with autism. If that wasn't crushing enough, Jordan dealt with poverty growing up as he was shuffled to and from different homes.

As a member of the United States Forest Service, Jordan battled some of the fiercest forest fires in American history. But Jordan has always persevered. So when Jordan upset John Cena for the United States Championship on SmackDown! on March 3, his against-all-odds journey had come full circle.

As JBL's Chief of Staff, Jordan lives a life he never could have envisioned growing up in Miami. He travels in limos, dines with important people and helps protect one one of the biggest Superstars on SmackDown!

After training with Rocky Johnson—the same Rocky Johnson who is The Rock’s father—Jordan signed a developmental deal with WWE and reported to Ohio Valley Wrestling to further develop his skills. Shortly thereafter, Jordan got the call and entered World Wrestling Entertainment.

On June 26, 2003, Jordan made his WWE debut on SmackDown! at Madison Square Garden against John Cena. Although he did not win the match, he was impressive enough that when Cena attacked Jordan after the match was over, the Undertaker came to the ring and even helped Jordan to his feet. Taker took time to shake Jordan’s hand and congratulate him on a good effort—the ultimate sign of respect for a WWE rookie.

Don’t tell him he does not have a shot. Don’t even think about offering him adversity. It will all just motivate him more.
