Here is the basic plot line, Balian of Ibelin played by Orlando Bloom travels to Jerusalem during the crusades of the 12th century, and there he finds himself as the defender of the city and its people.
This film has some fantastic fight scenes, although at times i.e. when the armies are marching towards Jerusalem the scene very much reminded me of Lord Of The Rings, as did some of the sound tracks they used.
Directed by Ridley Scott the director of Gladiator, it is a handsome epic with an excellent storyline which tackles the centuries-long conflict. Unfortunately this filmed bombed at the box office which I can not see why other than that it has an un-commercial story line which obviously does not attract the masses, but if you are interested in History then this is a film for you.
