After watching the Japanese version of The Ring before watching the American version when it came out I thought I should do the same with The Ring 2. So when it was on at 12.15 the other night I thought I would record it and watch it the next day.

All I can say is I am glad I didnt watch it the night I recorded it as I probably wouldnt have slept that night!

Ring 2 continues with the tale of urban video curse through the eyes of Reiko. The Director Hideo Nakata returns and tries to inject further depth but some say the overall effect is strangely less frightening than the original Ring but to me the erriness and physiological twists makes it just as nail biting as the first film.

The character Mai is trying to uncover the truth about her boyfriend's death, when she starts noticing that her step-son is displaying powers that Sadako (Samara in the American version) had...and she thinks that Sadako is out there trying to kill them. She must hide herself and her step-son from being killed after they watch the mysterious tape that will supposedly kill them 7 days after the watch it.

I am not going to say any more as it will ruin it for those of you wanting to go and see the American version in the cinemas soon. But my advice would be to see the original Japanese version first.

Ace review Amyster! :D Argh, it was on TV? :o Bah! I keep meaning to see the Japanese versions of all these classics! I've seen Japanese Ring 0 (technically Ring 3), and that was pretty scary. :D

Ack, wouldn't stop me! :D
*boss walks in while I'm watching Ring 0 on telly*
Boss: WTF?"
Me: Meh! *shrug* :P
Try it, it'll be fun!

It's ok Ring 0, though think it's the worst one of the 3 to be honest. But I watched it before any of the other films so didn't have a clue what was going on! - "Why the Hell is that girl being pushed down a well every 30 mins!?"

And though Ring 0 is meant to be a prequel, it has the well-pushing scene in it! ..I don't get it either! :?
