What do you think of the budget...
Drink and tobacco
There will be a 9p duty increase on a packet of cigarettes from tomorrow.
Duty on spirits, champagne and cider has been frozen, with 1p going on a pint of beer and 4p on a bottle of wine from midnight on Sunday.
Mr Brown said: "In anticipation of World Cup success this summer, I am freezing duty on champagne... and on British sparkling wine."
Education
Mr Brown announced a £34 billion investment spree for education as he promised to bring state schools up to the standard of their private counterparts.
He put the focus firmly on education, raising annual investment from £5.65 billion to £8 billion over the next five years.
He also promised an extra £440 million to go direct to school heads - an average of £190,000 per secondary school - to pay for extra teachers.
And Mr Brown announced a recruitment drive for 3,000 new science teachers as he placed skills and education at the heart of his Budget.
Parents
Child benefit is to be increased on April 10 to £17.45 and Child Trust Fund payments of £250 and £500 at age seven will be made for those with existing accounts.
Tax-free childcare voucher will be increased from £50 to £55 a week.
Sport
Mr Brown announced more money to train British sporting hopefuls ahead of the 2012 Olympics, which he said would be a "proud moment for London and the whole of Britain".
He said: "Recent results in Melbourne - and India - have shown the outstanding young sporting talent in our country.
"For training and facilities for our world class athletes of the future, I can announce £200 million of public money to be matched by raising £100 million in sponsorship from the private sector."
He also announced another £300 million from the lottery, making more than £600 million in total.
Another £34 million will establish a new National Sports Foundation.
