Today is the autumn equinox,
when summer will be well and tuly over.
The sun will cross the celestial equator,
and every point on earth will, for one day,
experience 12 hours of darkness and 12 hours of daylight.
At the South Pole, the penguins will be celebrating the first appearance
of the sun in 6 months!
Whilst at the North Pole the polar bears will be bracing
themselves for 6 months of darkness.
After today the nights will start to grow longer.
I love the long dark nights and the fresh cripsy frosty mornings

Blimy, is it Autumn all ready? I'll have to make a start on my Xmas shopping then LOL !
To be honest we never really had a Summer in terms of the weather. Oh, well i'm going to Turkey at the weekend for my hols. It will probably my first real sunshine this year!
See you all in a week and a bit. |
